We are P.O.E.M; People of Earth and Matter. P.O.E.M is a collective design community built on its authenticity and character. P.O.E.M is a multidisciplinary firm ranging from social elements to the mechanics of space and shapes, from the beauty of light and shadow to harmonising with nature. offering expertise in Architecture, Interior Design, Product Design, Furniture design, and Photography.

What is the scope of P.O.E.M?
P.O.E.M is recognised for its sophisticated, refined and humane designs. Our works often resonate with context, time and user. We deal with in-depth and comprehensive Architecture, covering the entire process, from initial consultation, to design and planning, and handover. Even though our main scope of work lies in creating beautiful Interiors, as a multidisciplinary firm, our works extend to other branches of the tree including Furniture Design, Product Design and Photography.

P.O.E.M is set up in Calicut and has extended its branches to Cochin.

Are you registered as an Architect?
Yes. Both the Principal Architects, who are also the founders of P.O.E.M, are registered under the Council of Architecture (C.O.A), allowing them to practise Architecture throughout India.
Furthermore, they are also members of the Indian Institute of Architects (IIA).

What style of architecture and design does P.O.E.M follow?
P.O.E.M is a boutique firm with a talented and innovative team, that pays absolute attention to the very last details. We are open to all styles of architecture as required by the user. As architects, we are curious about exploring and experimenting with different design styles. We strictly adhere to the context, climate and geographical background of the site, showing considerable sensitivity to the user's needs and time. We believe our work speaks of the delicate balance of architecture with nature, creating characterful, responsive and experiential environments.

Should I come down to your office for an initial consultation?
We recommend and request all clients to visit our studio (with prior appointment) to understand the working of our office. The initial consultation is a time for us to discuss your requirements and see if you feel we are the right company for your project. We shall discuss your ideas, and our capabilities to deliver the requirements. During this session you will be able to clarify all your queries. Therefore, visiting the studio at least once before the start of the project is advisable.

Is it possible to see your projects physically in person?
Yes. You will be able to see our ongoing projects which are under construction. Kindly note that completed works cannot be visited as per request, as we maintain and respect Client Privacy.
All details regarding a completed project are documented and will be available on our social media and website. You may refer to them for further clarification.

What is the best time to make a call-in communication?
We are available on all days between 11 am - 6pm, except on Sundays and other public holidays.

When will you visit the site initially?
The initial consultation is a time for us to discuss your requirements and to see if we are the right firm for your project. We shall discuss your ideas, and our capabilities to deliver your requirements. After the initial discussion, we will be sending in a Google Form for you to fill out. You will be asked to fill out the form stating all the relevant information regarding the project. Once the submission has been made, we will go through and schedule a visit to the site.

Will I have to make a payment for the first site visit?
Yes. You will be required to pay the nominal charge for the first site visit.
This will be discussed further in detail during our meeting.

What are the deliverables you aim to provide and how do you establish your fees?
Soon after the first site visit and consultation, we will be providing you with a proposal stating all the necessary details regarding the Project deliverables and Fees. You may kindly refer to them for further clarification. Feel free to communicate with us if there’s any further queries.

Will I have to make an Advance Payment before the starting of a Project?
Yes. You will have to make an advance payment. All details regarding this are stated in the proposal, and you may kindly refer to it. You may revert back to us for further clarifications.

What other documents are to be kept in hand?
Kindly keep the following documents in hand:

Copy of Land Deed documents

Copy of the Basic Tax Registration (BTR), related to the survey numbers of the site. The BTR will be available from the Village Office.

Any other relevant documents will be asked to submit later on as per requirement.
FAQ 15
Will there be Regular Supervision? Also, will you be providing PMC and Bill Checking?
No. We do not offer regular supervision. However, there will be timely site visits and material selection visits as per our requirements. You may refer to the proposal for further details.
Regarding PMC and Bill checking, we don't offer either of them.
FAQ 16
When will the Site Visits be scheduled and will I have to make payment for the visits?
You may refer to the proposal regarding this matter. Visits to the Site and for the selection of materials are pre-scheduled and are included in the proposal. Any additional visit as required, which is not included in the proposal, shall be paid a nominal charge. This will be discussed further in detail during our meeting.

Do you take up construction work for the designs you do?
No. We do not take up any construction work for the same.
